Basic Story Notes
Basic Story Notes will provide you with a professional reader’s opinion of your script. Within these story notes will be a comprehensive and thorough analysis of your screenplay. You will gain a clear understanding of what is working and not working in your screenplay. The notes will give you broad strokes of how to approach a rewrite in terms of character, story, genre, tone, theme, and other relevant areas that will enable you to take your project to the next level.
Basic Story Notes screenplay coverage may include the following points:
1. Character breakdowns of the primary and secondary characters that address the most pertinent character issues for this draft:
- Character Arc
- Dramatic Stakes in Relation to Character
- Are your characters consistent and believable?
- Does your character’s emotional journey motivate and pay off the story?
- Is your character sympathetic? Likable? Do we root for your hero?
2. Detailed story analysis, providing rewrite ideas and fixes that may touch upon several of the following points:
- Subject Matter
- Theme
- Genre
- Story Development and Plotting
- Dramatic Stakes
This level of coverage is most helpful for someone who feels their script is in fairly good shape and is getting ready to submit to competitions or send out. Monica can provide excellent feedback to help you gauge where your script falls in relation to other scripts in the market.
In addition, Monica will provide two 30 minute telephone consultations to answer any questions the writer might have about the story notes provided in the coverage.
Price: $350
This package does not include a standard synopsis of story. If you would like to have a synopsis included, the fee for that is an additional $50.00.
Monica offers additional telephone consultation to work with writers on an individual basis on their projects as needed.
